Stochastic matrix product states.

چکیده
The concept of stochastic matrix product states is introduced and a natural form for the states is derived. This allows us to define the analogue of Schmidt coefficients for steady states of nonequilibrium stochastic processes. We discuss a new measure for correlations which is analogous to entanglement entropy, the entropy cost S(C), and show that this measure quantifies the bond dimension needed to represent a steady state as a matrix product state. We illustrate these concepts on the basis of the asymmetric exclusion process.

Construction of a matrix product stationary state from solutions of finite size system
Stationary states of stochastic models, which have N states per site, in matrix product form are considered. First we give a necessary condition for the existence of a finite M -dimensional matrix product state for any {N,M}. Second, we give a method to construct the matrices from the stationary states of small size system when the above condition and N ≤ M are satisfied. Third, the method by w...

We study a one-dimensional anisotropic exclusion model describing particles moving deterministically on a ring with a single defect across which they move with probability 0 < q < 1. We show that the stationary state of this model can be represented as a matrix-product state.
متن کاملQuantum Trajectories for a Class of Continuous Matrix Product Input States
We introduce a new class of continuous matrix product (CMP) states and establish the stochastic master equations (quantum filters) for an arbitrary quantum system probed by a bosonic input field in this class of states. We show that this class of CMP states arise naturally as outputs of a Markovian model, and that input fields in these states lead to master and filtering (quantum trajectory) eq...

متن کاملN ov 1 99 6 Exact results for one dimensional stochastic cellular automata for different types of updates
We study two common types of time-noncontinuous updates for one dimensional stochastic cellular automata with arbitrary nearest neighbor interactions and arbitrary open boundary conditions. We first construct the stationary states using the matrix product formalism. This construction then allows to prove a general connection between the stationary states which are produced by the two different ...
